NuGreen Energy was formed to deliver total energy solutions to commercial and industrial clients across New Zealand and Australia. Our engagement process identifies opportunities for clients to realise energy savings, create a decarbonisation plan and dramatically reduce ongoing maintenance costs. Our mission is to deliver 10,000T per annum in carbon offset to our clients via solar generation and energy savings.
What We Do
NuGreen Energy Solutions specialises in the delivery of energy efficiency projects based on a “concept to completion” model. Technologies include Electric Vehicle Charging, Connected LED lighting and Solar Installation.
We also specialise in energy audits, data analysis and reporting (via “Opex service agreements”) verified carbon reporting and sustainability planning. We provide clients with specialist advice and planning in Nabers NZ Ratings, Green star performance, carbon zero compliance, WELL building standards and Emergency Lighting compliance.
Our Story
NuGreen Solutions NZ was formed in January 2015 as part of the Nugreen Australia strategic plan. It brought together leading NZ industry businesses and individuals. The business is 100% NZ owned and operated and celebrates its 10th birthday in 2025.
Since its inception NuGreen have delivered in excess of 311 projects right across New Zealand and currently have projects ongoing as far south as Bluff and as far north as Whangarei. We have good mix of private and public clients that include NZSX listed companies, private entities as well as councils. Our representation covers all of the country with internal support based from our support office in Auckland. The team has grown 400% over the last 2 years to support our growth and ambition.

Our Approach
NuGreen was formed in 2015 with a view to delivering end to end energy efficiency upgrades to existing infrastructure. The opportunity for businesses in New Zealand to reduce their carbon footprint, energy costs and overall enviromental impact were the key drivers in forming the company.

We believe that a product agnostic approach provides our clients with the best opportunity to have “best in class” outcomes rather than aligning ourselves to one or two manufacturers. NuGreen have strategic relationships with all of the major global and local manufacturers that enable us to deliver these solutions.
Nugreen also enjoy partnerships with most of the leading lenders in New Zealand that enable us to provide different funding options when capital isn’t available. These can be financed on balance sheet or we have a unique offer known as “Energy as a service”, whereby the client has a monthly fee based on an agreed outcome delivery typically over a 5 to 10 year period.
The final point of difference that Nugreen pride itself on is our ongoing service level agreements that allow the client to have little or no maintainence including hardware and labour. This allows the client to bank or re allocate its repairs and maintainence budget over the agreed period of time which is typically 5 or 7 years.
